Ways to avoid looking like a walking advert for tango

Let's start with the F word shall we? and no I'm not talking about Gordon Ramsey's kitchen I am in fact talking about foundation. The whole point of foundation is to create a flawless, picture perfect finish. So be sure to apply it in light layers to avoid looking like the top of a birthday cake. When choosing your foundation make sure to pick a colour that melts into your skin tone. Whatever you do don't pick a colour that's ten times darker otherwise you'll end up looking like Jack o lantern. I mean fair enough if you're going for that orange look, but a kind word of advice... if a guy wanted to date an orange he would rather turn to his fruit bowl instead just saying. The same applies to those who pick a colour ten times lighter then their natural skin tone. Why anyone would want to look like they haven't stepped foot in the sun for almost 5 years is beyond me.

If you're feeling rather pale however then that is where the bronzer and self-tanner come in. Understand that the whole point is to make it look like you've caught a natural tan and not like you've caked yourself in mud. Make sure when applying the self-tanner you rub it in properly to avoid looking like a candy cane as streakiness is not a good look for anyone.
Personally I would never apply fake tan myself I would stick to a professional as I know it would come out looking uneven which is why I stick to gradual tanning moisturiser for it helps gradually build and maintain a light natural looking tan.

The two all time favourite self-tanner's I swear by are:

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Gradual Tan Lotion 250ML

"This creamy, moisturising lotion, with a special combination of pure Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E, is the perfect way to keep your skin beautiful and soft with a natural looking glow.
With just a touch of self tanner, Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Natural Bronze creates a delicate, sun kissed, summer glow all year long. Gradually build a subtle tan within a few days, while deeply moisturising your skin. From fair to medium to dark, control the intensity of your skin tone all year round."

Dove Summer Glow Daily Face Moisturiser

"Gradually builds a beautiful light summer tan."

Favourites of 2011

By far my most used products/worn items of 2011.

1.Miss Dior Cherie. Needs no explanation

2. Batiste Dry Shampoo. The only dry shampoo I found that actually works plus it accomodates every hair colour meaning brunettes can use it too without their hair looking grey. Can I just add how much I love the fact that the bottle is leopard print and that it smells of coconut.

3. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Gradual Tanning Moisturiser. Finally a gradual tanner that leaves a gorgeous sun kissed tan so it looks like I came from St Tropez not like a walking advert for tango. Plus it smells like coca which makes it pleasant to put on as usually I don't like the smell of fake tan.

4. Sephora Chocolate Toffee Body Buter. Unfortunately London doesn't have Sephora - Sad times, so the only chance I get to buy this is when I go Poland in the summer. I could literally eat this stuff because it just smells soo goood like someone melted the lindor truffles. Plus it's so amazingly moisturising

5. Lynx Dark Temptation. Who says it should only be used by men I will wear anything that smells like chocolate.

6.Montagne Jeunesse Face Masks.  Their face masks are just soo lushhh. Speaking of Lush, I usually buy face masks from there. But as you can see I am quite the chocoholic so like to indulge in a treat from time to time.

7.Classic Gucci Purse. Say no more.
